What is Phi Kappa Psi's Philanthropy?
Some may wonder what Phi Kappa Psi fraternity is all about. Phi Kappa Psi was built on the idea of The Great Joy of Serving Others. Thus, philanthropy is a huge part of Phi Kappa Psi’s principles. Members of Phi Kappa Psi are expected to positively contribute to their communities in a variety of different ways such as community service and volunteering. Individual chapters have the ability to choose whatever philanthropic organization that they choose to support, with many chapters choosing to focus on Phi Kappa Psi’s national philanthropy, poverty issues and individuals with special needs.
Phi Kappa Psi Philanthropy:
While Phi Kappa Psi does not have a national philanthropic organization, focusing on poverty issues and special needs allows for each chapter to grow strong relationships with local organizations that support the same cause. Many Phi Kappa Psi chapters support their local Habitat for Humanity by doing activities such as building houses, donating to Meals on Wheels, and contributing to The Hunger Project. Phi Kappa Psi is able to help many different organizations and allows each chapter to build strong community relationships with impoverished groups. The flexibility of their philanthropy also allows them to contribute their services to other causes like disaster relief.

Phi Kappa Psi, founded after founders served an epidemic in the 1850s, believes that the flexibility of their philanthropy allowed for the members to have a more widespread impact and allow for members to see their impact in their own communities.
